The delegation from Euroregion «Dnepr» namely: representatives of Gomel region (the Republic of Belarus) and Chernihiv region visited Vinnytsia region and Soroca district as component of Euroregion «Dniester» on July 1st – 6th. The group was leaded by Head of Gomel regional agency of economical development Victor Buryi, and Advisor of Head of Cherihiv Regional State Administration Borys Uvarov.

The purpose of the trip was studding the experience of Euroregion «Dniester» performance and its Coordination center activity.

In Vinnytsia the participants had met the Head of Vinnytsia Regional Council, Head of Euroregion «Dniester» Sergiy Tatusiak. He informed colleagues about results of activity of mentioned organization for one year of its existence.

- We have been working little bit more than one year and we had attained the first results and they are very important considering the short time they were achieved. At most it was possible with cooperation of European Funds, from where we engaged more than 200,000 Euros as wide variety of projects, - informed S.Tatusiak.

Colleagues from “Dnepr” noticed that their achievements are more modest despite their region exists for 10 years.

- We engaged 1 mln. Dollars of investments to our projects within 10 years. We had periods of recession and now we trying to reanimate our Euroregion, - said Borys Uvarov.

He also mentioned that many problems to Euroregions partly located in Belarus caused by local tariff legislation where were no laws regarding cross-border cooperation. That’s why 5 Euroregions located in Belarus works barely on social enthusiasm.

- We hope to get as much information about activity of Euroregion «Dniester» as possible because it is supported and recognized by local authorities and has own representative office in Brussels, - said Victor Buryi.

At the same day guests studied the work of «Transparent Office» of Vinnytsia City Council and held a meeting in Coordination center of Euroregion «Dniester», visited touristic point of interests in Vinnytsia and learned the possibilities of green tourism development on the base of village Busha in Yampil district of Vinnytsia region. A tour to State historical and cultural reservation Busha had been held as well.

On July 3rd the delegation worked in Soroca district of Republic of Moldova where the meeting with Vice-Heads of the district Boris Ivasi and Vladimir Nicuta, was held as well. Within the framework of the official meeting that was visited by deputies of district council and representatives of district administration the projects of engagement of the Grants and achievements in infrastructure development were introduced to participants. In particular it was the projects of construction of bridge «Yampil – Cosauti» and the project of construction wastewater treatment plant in Soroca. The biggest impression on the delegation made the fact that 4 people work on searching and creating the grant projects in district council that is not common to districts that are parts of Euroregion “Dnepr”. At that day delegation also learned the experience of business-incubator and visited touristic points of interest of the district – Soroca’s fortress and the Candle of Gratitude.

Next day of visiting program started in Mohyliv-Podilskyi in Vinnytsia region, where Jean van Acker – strategy, planning and performance adviser of European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine introduced the Mission’s activities to the guests. He also informed about the project implementation «Improvement of border-crossing procedures for residents of the territory of the Euroregion «Dniester» which provides the improvement of interaction between society and customs and border services.

The delegation also visited the village Severynivka of Zhmerynka district of Vinnytsia region which is famous for its studding base of experience sharing in energy-saving technologies. The delegation program was finished in Vinnytsia with a training of project and strategy creation in Coordination center of Euroregion «Dniester».

Guests noticed that they got more experience than they had expected and they hope to develop the cooperation between Euroregions «Dnepr» and «Dniester».

- We would like to distinguish the program of visit itself which was proposed by Dniester’s colleagues. We had an opportunity not only to hold interesting meetings about euro regional topics, but also to learn the unique startups of local authorities of Ukrainian and Moldavian regions, project activities and touristic potential of Euroregion «Dniester». The atmosphere of openness, goodwill and readiness to conversation made big effort in achievement of the goals of this trip. Did we achieve the goal? Yes of course. Furthermore we’ve been travelling to open Euroregion «Dniester» for us but we opened Vinnytsia region and Moldova, we found new friends and confederates. This is good basis for further strengthen of contacts and development of cooperation, - shared his impressions Evhen Romanenko – Vice-president of Polesian fund of international and regional studies.
